I will dominate 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time world title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really happening.
